Der Name kann auch eine Referenz auf die Farbe des Sandes im S\u00fcden der Stadt selbst sein. Die \u00fcberdurchschnittlichen saisonalen St\u00fcrme in den Bergen f\u00fchren zu einem gro\u00dfen Wasserstrom, der ins Meer hinunterflie\u00dft und gro\u00dfe Mengen Sand mit sich zieht. W\u00e4hrend dieser Zeit wird die Stadt von der Flut in zwei H\u00e4lften geteilt, die Bucht wird aufgewirbelt und der Sand f\u00e4rbt sie goldgelb. Dies dauert in der Regel ein paar Tage und hat in der Vergangenheit Schaden und Verlust von Leben verursacht, da die Menschen sich des pl\u00f6tzlichen Auftretens und der Kraft, mit der sich das Wasser bewegt, nicht bewusst waren.
